Under-tile heating in three bathrooms and slab heating downstairs for an off-grid passive house featured on Grand Designs Australia.
The project
Hütt 01 is a passive house in Coburg by Home By Hütt and Melbourne Design Studios, and was featured on Grand Designs Australia. The house runs off grid on rooftop solar, so every system had to be efficient.
We supplied DEVIheat 150S mats under the tiles in the three bathrooms and DEVIsnow 30T cable in the downstairs slab. The slab stores heat and releases it slowly, and DEVIreg Smart thermostats let the owners control the system from their phone. Paired with solar, running costs are very low.
Benefits
- Heat stored in the slab and released slowly
- Very low running costs alongside rooftop solar
- Remote control from a smartphone
- Warm bathroom floors that dry quickly
