Image: DEVISelf-limiting cable fitted in gutters, valleys and downpipes stops ice dams and icicles forming, protecting the roof, gutters and people below. Output rises as it gets colder and falls as it warms.
Benefits and advantages
- Prevents ice dams, blocked gutters and falling icicles
- Self-limiting output adjusts along the cable to local conditions
- Cut to length on site and fitted directly to the gutter system
- Small, flexible cable that's quick to install
- Automatic control with roof sensors
System design starting points
- DEVIiceguard 18 (18 W/m at 10 °C) in gutters and downpipes; DEVIsnow 30T for larger roof areas
- Run the cable the full length of gutters and down the downpipes so meltwater can drain
- DEVIreg 850 IV with roof sensors (moisture and temperature), or a DEVIreg 330 thermostat
- Protect with an RCD (maximum 30 mA trip current)
