In alpine and elevated areas, ice on driveways, ramps and steps is a safety risk. Heating cables embedded in the surface keep them clear.
How it works
Cable is laid in concrete, asphalt or sand under pavers, at a spacing set by the local climate. Output is much higher than indoor systems because it has to melt snow in the open air.
Controls do the saving
An outdoor system should never run on a simple timer. Ground sensors detect both low temperature and moisture, so the system only runs when ice can actually form.
- Driveways and garage ramps
- Stairs, paths and building entrances
- Loading docks and car park ramps
